Founded in 2013, the Messiah University Marketing Club has been a thriving part of the Messiah University Department of Business. The mission of the Marketing Club is to help individuals connect with peers, build professional relationships, deepen their marketing understanding, and practice their discipline in ways that honor God, benefit others and launch their marketing careers. Marketing majors/minors and students from many other disciplines compromise the Club's membership. Everyone is welcomed to attend the Club's exciting on-campus events and field trips.
The Marketing Club accomplishes its mission by giving members the opportunity to build relationships with other students, as well as with marketing practitioners, and by inviting organizations to share highlights of their actual marketing strategies. As a result, Club members learn about careers in marketing and gain additional insight into many of the same concepts they are studying in the classroom. Some companies that have visited campus include Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Soccer Shots, Under Armour, and the Harrisburg City Islanders. The Marketing Club also offers off-campus trips to different organizations, which affords on-site learning and many networking opportunities. Past trips have included the Hershey Company, Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, and HydroWorx.
The marketing club is also an official student chapter of The American Marketing Association (AMA) - the main national association for marketers. Founded in 2023, the Central PA chapter connects marketing professionals, educators, and students in the Harrisburg, York, and Lancaster areas and hosts many networking, service, and educational events. AMA of Central PA is the fastest-growing chapter in the nation. In addition to participating in AMA and hosting speakers, the club works on projects for non-profit to give students hands on experience in marketing.
