Community Day: State of the University

At the beginning of each academic year, Messiah University holds Community Day, a time for the University's Community of Educators (CoE) to gather, reflect, and prepare for the upcoming year. As part of Community Day, President Phipps presents her State of University Address, introducing the theme for that academic year. The transcripts and other materials from these addresses can be found below.

Following the announcement of President Phipps's retirement in June 2024, she gave a brief address at the August 2024 Community Day. In this address, President Phipps reflected on Messiah's history and emphasized hope for the institution's future.
