Trio Atlantis Recital performing works by Auric, Mozart, Maros, Johansson, and Eckström
Trio Atlantis is a chamber music project consisting of three distinguished musicians from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Swedish instrumentalists Britta Holger (oboe) and Nils Erik Hagström (clarinet) joined with Swedish-American bassoonist/saxophonist Todd Goranson for a series of concerts in Sweden in 2016, including a recital at the former home of Alfred Nobel. These concerts generated interest in the local press, as well as an article in Umgås Magazine, resulting in additional performances in central and southern Sweden in August 2017 and additional musical collaborations in 2018.
Nils Erik conceived the idea for Trio Atlantis, having performed frequently in Texas with Todd in the early 2000s, while also collaborating with Britta for over 20 years in orchestra, opera, and chamber performances throughout Sweden. The combination of these three musicians has been described as “stellar”, and Trio Atlantis is excited to be making their United States premiere performance in March 2019 on the High Center Music Series in Pennsylvania.
