With a heart for reaching others through the art of music, pianist Benjamin Dominguez is a dedicated musician, performing artist, and aspiring pedagogue. Having studied the piano for over two-thirds of his life, Benjamin continues to develop the passion that he received from his teachers when he was a teenager, particularly from Mr. James Sempeles, former professor at Messiah College, who helped prepare strong foundations for him musically and technically before his undergraduate studies. At the University of Kansas under the guidance of Dr. Jack Winerock, Benjamin won many competitions and awards through his playing, culminating in the 2018 Presser Scholar Award and Scholarship given by the KU School of Music faculty for outstanding achievement. As a freshman, he performed twice with conductor Michael Stern and the KC Symphony at the Kauffman Center for the Arts after winning the KC Symphony Young Artists Competition. In 2017, he won the Grand Prize at the national Naftzger Young Artists Audition as well as joint First Prize in the KU Concerto Competition, giving a performance with conductor Jung-Ho Pak and the KU Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, he was the grand prize winner of the 2019 KC SAI Scholarship Auditions.

Currently, Benjamin is preparing for graduate auditions while studying under Dr. Jack Winerock, international concert artist and former chair of the University of Kansas Piano Department.
