Alumni Engagement
Looking for ways to give back to your alma mater? See below for a myriad of ways alumni can use their time and talents to give back to the University. Additionally, read through alumni testimonials and reflections from past experiences with current students. Be sure to click on the link to the right to fill out our involvement interest form.
Our alumni are vitally important to the success of Messiah University, and we greatly value the wisdom and expertise they can provide to our college community. Geographical proximity to the college is not necessarily required to assist with some events!
Homecoming Reunions
Please join us for an exciting weekend filled with many opportunities to reminisce on your college years, reconnect with fellow classmates, faculty, and friends, and renew your affinity to the place you once called “home.
Virtual Networking Events
The Alumni Office is excited to offer virtual networking events for both Messiah students and alumni! It is sort of like “speed dating” in that you get a chance to meet a lot of different people in a short amount of time. But instead of meeting in person, it is virtual and you are connecting with other people for the purposes of networking, not dating. These timed, text based chats allow two people to connect and network from anywhere. This is especially helpful for those that live further from campus and can’t make it to our on campus networking events.
Mocktails
Eyas Student Alumni Council, in partnership with the Career and Professional Development Center, hosts a Mocktail hour each year. This event encourages student and alumni interaction and allows students to practice for networking and business events where socializing becomes a focus in the workforce.
Into The City site visits, career panels, and receptions
Sponsored by the Messiah University Career Center, Office of Alumni & Parent Relations and Office of Development, Into the City is an intensive two-day career immersion and networking program intended to expose students to living, working and connecting in the city.
To learn more, visit the Career Center's Into the City webpage . For more information or to become involved, contact Abby Book at abook@messiah.edu or by phone at (717) 691-6016.
Mock Interview Days
This program brings alumni, parents, and friends of the college back to campus to conduct practice interviews with students. The practice interviews are 30 minutes long, during which the interviewers ask the student general questions for about 20 minutes and then provide feedback and suggestions for improvement for the remaining 10 minutes. This is a great way for students to improve upon their interview skills and network with key Messiah University alumni.
Pizza with Professionals
Pizza with Professionals is a 45-minute session with a representative from various organizations. Students who attend a Pizza with Professionals event will be able to gain in-depth knowledge about a specific organization or career path, increase their connections and professional networks, and learn first-hand from the experiences of others.... all while enjoying pizza!
Alumni who are interested in serving as a speaker for a future Pizza with Professionals event should contact Abby Book at abook@messiah.edu . Sessions are done live or via Zoom, so even if you do not live near Grantham you are still able to participate in this event.
Service Day
In Your Community | On Campus
Service Day is a time honored tradition at Messiah University rooted in the University's commitment to serving church and society in the spirit of reconciliation. In that spirit, we invite alums regardless of where you live to join our community in a week of intentional service to your local community surrounding the University's Service Day .

Into the City Mini: Lancaster Cupcake
Thank you for choosing to have the mini trip with us. It was truly our pleasure. We enjoy telling our story and speaking into the lives of students whenever we can. It was an Honor.

Into the City Mini: American Bible Society
Thank you so much for following up; it was a pleasure to host you, your team and the students for the afternoon. When I regrouped with the alums, they all said the same thing: I'm sure this was more rewarding for me than it was for the students. We were all honored to take part.

Virtual Networking Event
I just finished my first "online-networking" event with students. What a great experience! I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical of the event at first. Texting students roulette fashion? Lame! But I was so wrong. It was so much more than that.

Pizza with Professionals: National Park Service
Thank you! I love Messiah! I really appreciate you asking me to speak with the students.
