Shared Leadership


Shared professional-student leadership is a core strategy for mentoring in the Collaboratory.

A primary task of an advisor is to develop student leaders to assume responsibility and transfer authority and responsibility that is commensurate with students' maturity and ability.

Advisors work to cultivate an attitude of humility among student leaders and workers.

Advisors help students build a relationship with their partners based around service and a mindset that both parties will benefit from the project. Such humility is of course a lifelong lesson.

Leaders Workshop Schedule


The leaders workshop is an annual event held the week prior to the beginning of fall semester classes. The workshop offers training to students and professionals working on a Collaboratory project while providing teams with time and resources to begin planning for the year.
