The guide can be found on iTunes or Google Play.
Messiah is located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, just 12 miles from the state capital, Harrisburg, and just a short drive from Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. When arriving for the open house, you will be directed by campus personnel to our visitor parking lot, conveniently located near where you’ll start your day.
How do I get to campus?
Where should I park?
Following parking signs or attendants to park in the visitor parking lot.
Are the day’s activities for both students and quests?
Yes! Most activities are for both students and guests to participate in together. If a session/experience is students or guests only, it will be indicated on the schedule in the Guidebook app. Classes are for registered students only.
Do I need to sign-up beforehand for sessions other than the class?
Nope! Students must pre-register for a class through the link in their email or at registration. Other than the class, students and guests are welcome to attend any sessions, lunch specialty tours, campus tours, etc. they choose throughout the day.
How do I know what to do throughout the day outside of class?
Follow your academic department of interest throughout the day. Attend the academic session, lunch and any additional opportunities to experience as much time with your potential future major as possible. If you aren't sure what you want to major in, feel free to select a few different tracks to follow, or feel free to split up from your guests and attend different sessions as well. Check out the Guidebook app for full schedule and options!
When/where do we eat?
Lunch is free to all guests attending the Spotlight Day. Lunch time depends on your academic department (some eat at 11 am and others at 12 pm based upon the rest of their schedule). Lunch tables are hosted by your academic department faculty and/or current students so look for your department's reserved table and enjoy!
What information will be provided during the Admissions presentation?
Admissions presentations cover the application process, scholarship information, majors, campus opportunities and basic financial aid information.
How will I navigate around campus throughout the day?
Admissions staff will guide everyone to their first sessions after the opening session. After that, staff are available throughout campus to help point you in the right direction to get there on your own. Pick up a campus map at the Ask Us table or use the interactive map in the Guidebook app too.
Can I go on a campus tour?
Yes! Full campus walking tours are available at 1, 2 and 3 pm. Full campus tours are led by a current student and take about 60 minutes. Tours explore academic buildings, the library, student union, residence hall, fitness center and more!
What does the Wrap up entail?
The Wrap up is a great opportunity to connect with your admissions counselor. Counselors are assigned based upon your high school and we even color code things to make it easier. Look for the counselor with the same color lanyard and balloons that you have! You will also be able to chat with current students while you enjoy end of the day snacks and pick up your free t-shirt!
What if I want to meet with an athletic coach today?
If you are interested in athletics at Messiah, please fill out the Be Recruited form prior to your visit and reach out to the coach on your own to schedule a time. Due to the packed schedule of the day, admissions is unable to plan additional meetings for you, but if your scheudle allows and the coach is available, then feel free to plan on your own. Generally speaking, after 2 pm works best.
We have multiple in-person and virtual visit options available. Browse the events below or click the blue button to use a guided help tool to find the right event for you. We can’t wait to show you all the reasons Messiah is an awesome place to call home!
