APPLY TO MESSIAH

Application process

Application process

Graduate assistantship positions for the 2025-2026 academic year will be posted in November.
Applications will be reviewed, on-campus or Zoom interviews are held, and invitations extended each spring.

The application process is as follows:

  • Complete the enrollment application process for the Graduate Program in Higher Education Leadership. You must be accepted into one of the degrees in the Graduate Program in Higher Education Leadership (Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership or the Master of Arts in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership) to be considered as a candidate. Please note on your essay that you will be applying for a Graduate Assistantship. It is highly recommended that Graduate Assistants begin with the Summer Intensive course (on campus) July 21- July 25, 2025. This would be a Summer start on your application.
  • You may submit your graduate assistant application while your higher education leadership application is being completed.
  • Complete the graduate assistantship application after reviewing descriptions and requirements for each graduate assistantship position. These are found in "Positions available".

Offers and placements

  • Graduate assistantships will be awarded based on a thorough review of applicants, including interviews.
  • Placements will be made in partnership with assistantship supervisors.
  • Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
  • Graduate assistant placement is contingent upon completion of successful reference and background checks.

Interview Day(s) (details subject to change).

  • Graduate Assistant on-campus recruitment days will be held March 2 and 3, 2025. After this time, positions will be opened until filled.
    • We strongly suggest you make every effort to come to campus for in-person interviews.
    • Those unable to come to campus for in-person interviews will have Zoom interviews.
  • An invitation to interview will be sent once all application (Graduate Assistant application and Higher Education Leadership acceptance) materials are received.
