Messiah College Theatre Arts Academy
The Messiah College Theatre Arts Academy (MCTAA) specializes in professional training for emerging theatre artists entering grades 3-12. Students will have a great time experiencing theatre first hand through interactive games, creative improvisation, age-appropriate scene work, and even through doing a short show for family and friends at the end of the camp week! Seasoned theatre professionals and undergraduate theatre majors mentor students as they discover and hone their creative potential.
Staffing
Students learn from experienced and credentialed artist/educators who are assisted by Messiah College undergraduate theatre majors in all academy activities. Talented guest artists from Central Pennsylvania round out a stellar theatre arts experience.


One Week Programs
Junior Camp -
3rd grade to 6th grade
Monday through Thursday - 9:00 to 12:00
Friday 9:00 - 2:00 with a performance at 12:30 for family and friends.
Creative exploration and the development of individual potential are the primary goals for junior division theatre students. In addition to devising and rehearsing a production, students have acting and dance classes in which they investigate the world of theatre through exercises that activate their voices, bodies and imaginations. Open to students going into grades 3-7
Senior Camp -
7th grade to 12th grade
Monday through Thursday 1:00 to 4:00
Friday 9:00 - 2:00 with a performance at 12:30 for family and friends.
Designed for students with moderate to advanced experience, this program is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the creation of theatre as you work to develop your creative potential through acting, improvisation, and dance classes. Open to students going into grades 8-12
