Processional line up for graduates
7:45-8:15 a.m., Hitchcock Arena, Sollenberger Sports Center
All members of the Class of 2020 must report to line up for the processional.
- All graduates will march to the Commencement Ceremony from Hitchcock Arena. Graduates must report to Hitchcock Arena with their caps and gowns between 7:45-8:15 a.m. to receive instructions and a number for their place in line. (Note: Messiah does not hold a ceremony rehearsal, so it is important for graduates to report on time to receive instruction.)
- There are many graduates to line up, so it is essential to arrive well before 8:15.
Shoemaker Field opens for guest seating @ 8:15 a.m.
Tickets will be required for entry to Starry Athletic Complex.

9:30 - 11 a.m., Starry Athletic Complex, Shoemaker Field
The Commencement ceremony celebrates graduating seniors and their family and guests
IMPORTANT CHANGE: Due to COVID-19 related restrictions, tickets are required this year for entry to the outdoor commencement ceremony. Each graduate will be allocated tickets for 4 guests.
2020 Commencement Service Ticket Information
Immediately following the Commencement ceremony, the University will provide pre-packaged refreshments for all graduates and their guests.
12 noon, Commencement celebration concludes for the Class of 2020
Class of 2020 graduates and their guests are asked to please leave Starry Athletic Complex by 12 noon in order to accommodate the incoming guests and traffic for the Class of 2021 Commencement ceremony which follows. 2020 graduates and their guests are invited to visit the Campus Store and/or take photos at other locations across campus. As a reminder, masks and physical distancing must be maintained while on campus for all Commencement festivities.

Messiah's Commencement planning is tightly integrated with changing federal and state restrictions related to COVID-19, and aspects of the ceremony are subject to change as the University adjusts its planning in response.
