Faculty development funds

The Office of Faculty Development administers a ranked faculty development program. Each individual ranked faculty member receives an annual allotment of funds to support expenses associated with their professional role.

Annual Allocation

The annual individual allocation of funds to support professional development for 2024-25 is currently slated to be $700. Any unused funds from the current year, up to $700, will automatically be carried over to the coming year. After July 1, the Office of Faculty Development indicates the total amount you have available for 2024-25.

Technology Purchases

Faculty interested in purchasing technology with Faculty Development Funds (including Professional Development, Internal Grants, Scholar Chair, Distinguished Professor Chair Funds) must complete the Technology Request Form. This routes technology requests through the appropriate approval channels. Per the University’s Expenditure Policy, equipment purchased with university funds (including Faculty Development funds) will be assigned to the faculty member but belong to Messiah University.
