Advance your physical therapy practice and education with Messiah University and NAIOMT
Messiah University and NAIOMT have partnered to bring continuing educational programs to physical therapists who wish to enhance their practice and further their education. Programs include PT continuing education courses and post-professional certification, an accredited orthopedic clinical residency and a Doctor of Science in physical therapy degree.
Orthopedic clinical residency program
The NAIOMT/Messiah University Orthopedic Residency* will help you develop a knowledge base in the specialty practice of orthopedics and the technical skills required to treat a general orthopedic population at a mastery level and prepare you to sit for board certification exams. Through a mix of live, synchronous and asynchronous coursework, this ABPTRFE-accredited program is designed to provide all the benefits of residency training without having to relocate. The core courses can be taken at Messiah University, at another location closer to where the resident-in-training resides, or online.

Doctor of Science in physical therapy (DSc in PT)
The DSc in PT is a terminal degree designed for candidates with a Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master of Physical Therapy degree who are seeking preparation and a credential appropriate for academic teaching or research positions in their field. The program is designed for licensed physical therapists and can be completed in four to five years. Students may choose from degree concentrations in academic leadership or orthopaedic manual therapy.
