An evening with Brad Wilcox, Sociologist and Director of the National Marriage Project
“Marriage and the Common Good: How the State of Our Union Depends Upon the State of Our Unions”
Brad Wilcox, a prominent sociologist and Director of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia, will deliver a compelling lecture on the state of marriage in America. With a focus on the critical role that strong, stable marriages play in the well-being of individuals and society, Wilcox will draw on his extensive research to address the growing crises in American society, from declining happiness and rising deaths of despair to the challenges faced by schools and the inaccessibility of the American Dream for millions. In his lecture, titled "America is in Crisis," Wilcox will argue that the most effective solution to these widespread problems lies in reviving the institution of marriage.
Wilcox, who also serves as the Future of Freedom Fellow at the Institute for Family Studies and a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, is the author of the recently published book Get Married: Why Americans Should Defy the Elites, Forge Strong Families and Save Civilization. His work has been featured in prestigious scientific journals as well as popular outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Atlantic. A native of Connecticut, Wilcox now resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife and family, where he continues to study and advocate for the importance of marriage in American society.
