Knowledge of the Bible

The Bible provides the foundational word upon which Christian beliefs are held; therefore students gain the ability to understand and evaluate the role of the Bible as an authority for these beliefs and practices. In addition they develop a basic grasp of interpretive methodologies of Biblical texts and understanding for its complex formation and variety of literary genres.

Why does it matter?

Study of Old and New Testament literature equips students to understand and apply biblical texts personally and responsibly through careful reading and analysis.
