Position Title:     Graduate Assistant, Assessment of Student Learning

Department:      Office of Assessment

Reports To:         Director of Assessment

Position Summary:  Under the supervision of the Director of Assessment, the Graduate Assistant will perform duties related to the University's academic assessment program. This is a two year, 20 hours/week, appointment not to exceed 800 hours/year.  Commitment runs from approximately August 1st – May 30th each of the two years.

Education Required:  Bachelor's degree required; current enrollment in one of the degrees within the Graduate Program in Higher Education Leadership at Messiah University.

Experience Required:  Working in a setting that requires significant interaction with people (e.g. office; retail; service industry, etc.), experience working with computer systems.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of campus offices and individuals
  • Ability and willingness to follow through with assisting educators
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Christian faith commitment required

 

 

Primary Duties

1.

Provide assessment services to educators through individual consultation and group workshops, particularly related to use of campus assessment software

2.

Assist the Director of Assessment in the entry/revision of assessment plans in campus assessment software and perform additional assigned work in assessment software to ensure effective assessment data collection and accurate curriculum mapping

3.

Contribute to the development of assessment resources for campus educators, reports, and proposals

4.

Maintain consistent and reliable attendance

 

 

 

Secondary Duties

1.

Serves on Assessment of Student Learning Committee (ASLC)

2.

Other duties as assigned.
