The CLP is organized using a cohort model. Each cohort lasts two years, and the second cohort began in fall 2017 and will conclude in spring 2019.
The cohort program includes two overnight retreats, eight day-long seminars, and a concluding celebratory banquet. Seminars involve onsite meetings with local leaders in government, business, health care, education, media, and the arts, and will also include time for discussion and theological reflection. Fellows who are accepted into the cohort are expected to participate in all program events.
The CLP is intentionally ecumenical and welcomes participants from all churches and denominations in the region. It seeks to attract participants from all racial and ethnic communities in the region and to include pastors from both rural and urban parishes.
