Search committee

About the search committee

The 16-member presidential search committee that led the first phase of Messiah's search for its ninth president included trustees, alumni, undergraduate and graduate faculty, administrative staff, as well as the president of the Student Government Association. Additionally, in keeping with the longstanding covenant agreement with Messiah’s founding denomination, the Brethren in Christ Church, the national director of the Brethren in Christ U.S., also served as part of the committee.

Search committee update

On March 24, 2025, the officers of Messiah's board of trustees announced that it had concluded the initial search phase for Messiah’s ninth president and was moving to an interim presidency. "The work of the presidential search committee is now complete, and we would like to express appreciation for the extensive time and diligence they have invested in this process," said the board officers in their statement. The board will communicate more about its plans for the ongoing presidential search on this website at a later date.
