Search process and timeline
The search committee and the board of trustees have developed the following timeline for the progression of Messiah’s presidential search. Any changes or adaptations will be updated and communicated via this website.
September-mid October 2024
- Listening sessions on campus with stakeholder groups
- Search committee processes stakeholder feedback from listening sessions
- Search committee and board develop Presidential Position Profile
Mid October-November 2024
- Advertise search to potential candidates
- FaithSearch Partners sources, screens and interviews candidates
November-December 2024
- Semi-finalists presented to search committee
- Search committee interviews semi-finalists
NOTE: Given the nature of a presidential search, and the desire of confidentiality among leading candidates, the identities of the finalists will not be made public before the new president is named.
January-February 2025
The presidential search committee, led by the board of trustee officers, continues to explore and interview lead candidates.
February-March 2025
- Finalists invited to return with spouse for broader interviews
- Board of trustees votes to appoint next president

July 2025
- New president begins service at Messiah University
