Pre-Pharmacy (4 yr)
Admission requirements vary by institution so you should research programs of interest. In general, requirements include:
- 1 year general biology
- Anatomy and physiology
- 1 year general chemistry
- 1 year organic chemistry
- 1 year introductory or general physics
- Mathematics
- 1 year English
- Courses in social sciences or humanities
Application Timeline
Pharmacy school directly after Messiah University:
- Required courses must be completed by end of the first semester of senior year
- Apply in the summer between junior and senior year
Standardized Test
- The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is required by approximately 2/3 of all pharmacy schools.
- The PCAT is a specialized test that helps identify qualified applicants to pharmacy colleges. It measures general academic ability and scientific knowledge necessary for graduate-level pharmaceutical education.
- The test is offered on one or more dates in July, September, October, November, and January.
