9.3 Intercultural Perspectives - Global
Intercultural perspectives-global includes one three-credit course or one three-credit international cross-cultural course.
- Requirements: One three-credit interdisciplinary Intercultural Perspectives-Global course focusing on diversity in a global context.
- Level: 300
- Sequence: Recommended for any semester after the first year.
- Course Proposal: One course appropriate to the course learning objectives and level designation is proposed by faculty with expertise in cultural intelligence in a global context, approved by General Education Committee and Curriculum Committee, and reported to the Community of Educators for information and review.
Intercultural Perspectives-Global Course Objectives
By the completion of the course students will demonstrate the ability to:
- Articulate awareness of one’s own cultural identity and biases. (Inclusive Excellence)
- Describe elements of culture different from one’s own in relation to its history, values, politics, communication styles, economy, beliefs, and practices, evaluating similarities and differences. (Inclusive Excellence)
- Ask complex questions about cultures, seeking out and articulating answers that reflect multiple cultural perspectives. (Inclusive Excellence)
