9. Intercultural Perspectives

9.5 Third-Level Language

Third semester of same language student completed to fulfill language requirement.

  • Requirement: One three-credit, third-level language course.
  • Level: 200
  • Sequence: Recommended immediately following levels 1 and 2 of language.
  • Course Proposal: One course appropriate to the course learning objectives and level designation is proposed by faculty with expertise in language study, approved by General Education Committee and Curriculum Committee, and reported to the Community of Educators for information and review. 

Third-Level Language Course Objectives

By the completion of the course students will demonstrate the ability to:

  1. Communicate in written form at the intermediate level in the target language (Inclusive Excellence)
  2. Communicate orally at the intermediate level in the target language (Inclusive Excellence)
  3. Articulate knowledge of culture in the target language (Inclusive Excellence)
  4. Articulate connections between Christian faith and language study (Christian Faith)
