Web services is responsible for designing, maintaining, and managing content on the University's homepage, along with various other specifically designated sections of the outward-facing website.

Additionally, web services is tasked with building and designing all external web pages and sites for specific college offices and departments, including but not limited to: admissions, academic majors and departments, graduate programs, the office of the president, key presidential initiatives and institutional initiatives.

The Web services office at Messiah University provides a range of services to the campus community, all of which are offered free of charge. These services encompass:

Website Development and Organization:

• Developing and maintaining Messiah University's external website, including day-to-day upkeep of messiah.edu.
• Creating new sections on the public-facing website for programs, departments, divisions, or initiatives.
• Offering consultations to campus groups and departments on effective web content organization, applying web usability principles.
• Providing design and site navigation guidance, as well as initiating web projects for university departments and programs.
• Monitoring web page performance and functionality to ensure optimal efficiency and a high-quality user experience.

Support & Training:

• Managing the University's content management system (Jadu CMS) and conducting training sessions for campus users.
• Offering graphic design support for websites and multimedia assistance for Messiah-related web content.
• Educating the Messiah University community on current and emerging web technologies for potential implementation.
• Creating official Messiah University blogs and ensuring adherence to graphic and editorial standards.
• Monitoring specified areas of the University's websites to address inaccurate or outdated content.

Technology:

• Responding to technical inquiries through the web help ticket system on the University's external website.
• Coordinating web server usage, access, and upgrades in collaboration with Messiah's Information Technology Services (ITS).
• Monitoring and communicating website activity, interpreting statistical data to support web marketing strategies.
• Procuring and maintaining software and hardware for the external website.
• Overseeing internet copyright violation procedures for students in conjunction with ITS and the Office of Student Programs.
• Establishing and maintaining the University's governing website policies.
• Implementing and assisting with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Messiah University's external website.
